Mix. 'Cause some existing artwork is worthy enough to get included in an artbook, and exclusive 'cause surprises are also good.

Hard to say as the only artbook I have is a Yoshitaka Amano one...and a lot of it I haven't seen online or anything, while others are extremely recognizable. But probably a mix of both - it'd be like a treasure hunt every single time you open it.
I love exclusive artwork, but it's likely to be more expensive (although tthat's not to say it isn;t worth the price!). It's also lovely to have a hard copy of pre-existing work (like starfightercomic <3), I think - the exclusive makes it doubly special.

It all depends. If this is like their 3rd or 4th book, then I would expect it to have more exclusive art work.
If it was their first or maybe their second art book, I would think that they would cover as much of their work as they could and would have a record their existing work it in a published book.
I think it would be kinda hard to have a book of purely exclusive work if this person makes a living by selling their art work, but I can see them holding on to a few just for an upcoming book.
